Egham – Rear and Side Extension, Loft Conversion & Full House Refurbishment
Egham – Rear and Side Extension, Loft Conversion & Full House Refurbishment
This completed residential project in Egham involved a substantial rear and side house extension, a loft conversion and a complete refurbishment of the existing property. The result is a significantly larger and more practical family home, with every floor redesigned to provide generous living spaces, additional accommodation and a consistent standard of finish throughout.
Delivered as a comprehensive design and build project, the works allowed the property to be transformed as a whole rather than treating each area separately. From the extended ground-floor layout to the converted loft and renewed interiors, every element was carefully considered to create a home that feels connected, comfortable and suited to modern family life.

A Spacious Rear and Side House Extension
The rear and side extension substantially increased the ground-floor footprint, creating an expansive open-plan kitchen, dining and living space. This new layout provides clearly defined areas for cooking, eating, relaxing and entertaining while maintaining an open and natural flow between them.
A bespoke kitchen sits at the heart of the extension, complete with extensive cabinetry, integrated appliances and a large central island that offers additional preparation space, storage and informal seating. The darker cabinetry and contemporary finishes add depth to the room, complemented by feature lighting and detailed joinery.

Large glazed sliding doors extend across the rear of the property, introducing plenty of natural light and providing a strong visual connection with the garden. When opened, they create a seamless transition between the internal living space and the outdoor entertaining area, making the home feel even larger during the warmer months.
Herringbone-style flooring continues across the principal ground-floor areas, helping to visually connect the kitchen, dining room and lounge. Decorative cornicing, wall panelling, feature lighting and bespoke media detailing bring character to the contemporary open-plan layout.

Egham Loft Conversion
The loft conversion unlocked the potential of the property’s previously underused roof space, creating valuable additional accommodation without compromising the established ground-floor layout.
Multiple rooflights were incorporated into the roof to bring natural daylight into the converted loft. The new floor was carefully planned to maximise the available head height and provide comfortable, functional rooms with practical storage.

Bespoke fitted wardrobes and dressing furniture were installed to make effective use of the available space. The cabinetry combines generous storage with integrated dressing areas and decorative timber-slat detailing, creating a tailored finish that complements the rest of the refurbished home.

Complete Interior Refurbishment
Alongside the extension and loft conversion, the entire property underwent a comprehensive internal refurbishment. This ensured that the original areas of the house matched the quality, appearance and functionality of the newly constructed spaces.
One of the most distinctive features is the redesigned staircase and entrance hall. Timber handrails, decorative metal balustrades and a collection of statement pendant lights create a strong central feature extending through the different levels of the home. Bespoke under-stair storage was also incorporated to make use of space that may otherwise have been wasted.

Detailed finishes were introduced throughout the property, including decorative cornicing, wall panelling, feature walls, modern internal doors and carefully selected lighting. The combination of contemporary and traditional details gives the interior its own character while maintaining a cohesive appearance from room to room.

Contemporary Bathrooms and Bespoke Finishes
The bathrooms were fully renewed as part of the house refurbishment. Each space was individually finished using a combination of marble-effect tiling, contrasting vanity units, illuminated mirrors and contemporary sanitaryware.
One bathroom features bold green marble-effect surfaces within a walk-in shower, balanced by neutral wall and floor finishes. Another uses clean white marble-effect tiling with black-framed shower glazing, a dark countertop basin and matching black fittings. These contrasting designs give each bathroom a distinctive identity while maintaining the same high standard of workmanship.

A Complete Design and Build Transformation
The completed Egham project demonstrates what can be achieved when a house extension, loft conversion and full home refurbishment are planned and delivered as one coordinated development. The additional space has allowed the property to evolve into a substantial family home, while the bespoke interiors and carefully considered finishes give every area a clear purpose and individual character.
